LG Chem (Huizhou) Chemical Co., Ltd. is a limited liability company jointly established by CNOOC Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd. and LG Chem, Ltd. Each party holds an equal stake in the company. Upon commissioning, the company is expected to generate annual sales revenue of 5 billion yuan. (CNOOC Refining & Chemical is a wholly state-owned enterprise funded by China National Offshore Oil Corporation, one of China’s three major national oil companies. LG Chem is affiliated with LG Group, one of South Korea’s three largest conglomerates, and is South Korea’s leading integrated chemical company.)

The company is constructing a state-of-the-art production facility with internationally advanced technology, capable of producing 300,000 tons per year of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene Resin—known in Chinese as “丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯树脂,” or simply “ABS”). The facility will also include the necessary supporting infrastructure. The products primarily focus on high-end and specialty-grade materials, widely used in fields such as electronics and electrical appliances, the automotive industry, construction materials, and instrumentation. Upon completion, the company will become one of the largest and most technologically advanced producers and sellers of specialized ABS materials and high-end general-purpose ABS resins in China. It will be the leading ABS manufacturer in the South China region and hold a prominent position within the industry.
